RAMELTON SINGLES
Ramelton Pres ran an early season singles event in conjunction with the Lennon Festival and was fully booked early by quality indoor players from many clubs from the county and far afield. The final was between two local players, John Quinn, Ballylennon, and Ivan McClintock, St Johnston BC, with the Ballylennon man coming out tops. Semi-final spots were filled by Dan Bonner, Maghery, and Stuart McSorley, Ardstraw. Other competitors in the final were Gerard Conroy, Fintona, Cecil Dillon, St Marks, Portadown, Harry Wilson, Ardstraw, Joe Beattie, St Marks, Portadown, Colin Glackin, Maghery,  Daniel O’Kane, St Eunans, Raphoe, Sean Heaveron, St Canices, Dungiven, and Mark Beattie, Strabane CC. The club appreciated the support of Sign It, Signs, Graphics and Print, Kernans Spar, Tully Lawnmowers, Arthur Friel Painting, Browne Agri Sales Ltd, Ramelton Animal Health Centre, Homeland, Oakwell Holiday Village and O’Shaughnessy’s Bar. The big winners were the Donegal Hospice and the Patients Comfort Fund in the Ramelton Community Hospital who will share €1000.00

GREENBANK SINGLES
The inaugural Bertie Steele Memorial Cup has now been completed in Inishowen and the winner was Rickie Cochrane, Largy, and the runner-up was Andrew Evans. Semi-finalists were Terence Patton, Strabane CC and Mark Beattie, Strabane CC. Gary McNabb took the Raphoe Hardware & Grain sponsored Convoy Singles when he beat Jamie Glackin, Maghery, in the final game on Monday evening. Semi-finalists were Darren Malarkey, St Pats, Malin and Daniel O’Kane, St Eunans, Raphoe. ST JOHNSTON PRES SINGLES
Finals Night produced a great final game between the gifted Lynn Hamilton, Glendermott Pres and the SMPT UK Open Winner, Mark Beattie, Strabane CC. They were unable to be separated after ten ends and it took the extra end for Mark to take the Tinney Perpetual Shield for this season. Semi-finalists were John Quinn, Ballylennon and Mark Cairns, Ballylennon. Other competitors on the night were Mark McKimm, Fintona Pearses, Brian Griffin, St Marys, Buncrana, Patsy Boyle, Burtonport, Colvin Beattie, Cathedral, Raphoe, Joe Duggan, Dunfanaghy, Colin Glackin, Maghery, Richard Glass, Clougherney, James Caskie, Derramore, Raymond McGarvey, Dunfanaghy, Alan McCombe, 1st Ahoghill, Mickie Mulligan, Knockmoyle, and Johnnie Shields, Ramelton.

DONEGAL ZONE SINGLES
Sections of Zone Fundraising Singles were played in Inch BC, St Ninians, Convoy, Gortahork BC, St Johnston Pres BC, with the Finals played in Carnone BC. The winner was Lynn Hamilton, Glendermott Pres, who beat Stephen Stafford, Kilskeery, in the final. Semi- finalist were Alan McCombe, First Ahoghill, and Norman Rutledge, Sixmilecross. Other qualifiers in the finals were Andy Steele, Greenbank, Trevor Wilson, Strabane CC, Rachel McDonnell, Ballylennon, Brandon Sayers, Ballykelly Pres, Gerard Glackin, Maghery, and Owen Gallagher, Gortahork. Denis Doherty, Convener, appreciates the help of the Clubs and their members who hosted the nights and the players who supported the event.

MAGHERY SINGLES
An excellent final at the Ionad An Mhachaire in which John Quinn, Ballylennon, trailed Pat Walsh, Glenties, until the 10th end. A cracking draw in the 10th saw John post two shots and take the title for this season. Semi-finalists were Enda Walsh, Maghery, and Gerard Glackin, Maghery. Other Competitors on the night were Joe Coll, St Johnston Pres, Lee Jacob, Ramelton, Colin Glackin, Maghery, and Barbara Aicken, Dunfanaghy.

GORTAHORK SINGLES

Gortahork’s Charity event was completed on Friday evening and produced some cracking games. The winner was Daniel O’Kane, St Eunans, Raphoe, who beat Raymond McGarvey, Dunfanaghy, in the final. Semi-finalists were Jamie Glackin, Maghery, and John Quinn, Ballylennon. Other competitors on the night were Colin Glackin, Maghery, John Solan, Maghery, Andy Steele, Greenbank, and James McHugh, Dunfanaghy. The big winners were Good & New Cancer Bus, €400.00, and the Cancer Care West, Galway, €850.00.

The Norman McMullan Autos sponsored Victor Harron Memorial Cup at Donoughmore Pairs event was won by super-sub Robin Gamble and John Quinn, Ballylennon, who beat Ciaran Green and Andy Steele, Greenbank, in the final. Semi-finalists were Joe Coll & David Bonner, St Johnston Pres and Paul Duff & Jason Hand, Corduff. An excellent final between Stuart McSorley, Ardstraw, and Colin Shortt, Clougherney Pres. two Mid Tyrone players who were stalwarts in last year’s inter Zone final. After a see saw battle, Stuart managed to edge out Colin to take the Cathedral Cup for this season Semi-final spots were filled by Lee Jacob, Ramelton and Stephen Martin, St Eunans, Raphoe. Norman Rutledge, Sixmilecross Pres, was in top form on Friday evening in the Lecture Hall and was a worthy winner of the Singles event. Derek McClintock, St Johnston BC, was in imperious form in the Finals Night, as he carved his way through the field to take the Conwal title on Monday night. Runner-up was Trevor Wilson, Strabane CC, and the semi-finalists were Joe Coll, Inch, and David Doherty, Ardstraw. The Bill McKinley Singles
Although the weather was unkind to the club during the qualifying nights, spectators were treated to some excellent bowls during the Finals Night. A great final, which went down to the last bowl, saw John Quinn, Ballylennon, edge out Pat Walsh, Glenties, to take the Bill McKinley Open Singles for this season, having won it in 2018. Semi-final spots were filled by Jamie Glackin, Maghery, and Colin Glackin, also from Maghery. Simon Donaghy, Gortnessey Pres, took the Ballylennon title for this season, beating Shane Heavern, St Canices, Dungiven, in the final. MAGHERY RINKS
The winners of the Maghery rinks were David Crawford, Stuart McSorley, Michael Gallagher and John Quinn, Ballylennon, who beat Conor McLaughlin, Mervyn Baird, Seamus McLaughlin and Danny McLaughlin, Greenbank, in the final. Semi-finalists were  John Bonner, Shaun Amrein, Marty Bonner and Dan Bonner, Maghery and Gary Moore, Pauline Beattie, Mark Beattie and Joseph Beattie, St Marks, Portadown. John Quinn, Ballylennon, chalked up his fifth win in Donegal tournaments when he overcame a spirited effort from Stanley Browne, Ardstraw, in the Scott Shield Charity Final. Semi-finalists were Graham Bell, St Johnston Pres and Andrew Steele, Greenbank. Other competitors in the final were Valerie Witherow, Strabane CC, Ivan McClintock, St Johnston BC, Derek McClintock, St Johnston BC and Ashley McCain, Derg Parish. The tournament proceeds will be donated to Donegal Church of Ireland  “Save our Spire Fund”

The Bill McKinley Perpetual Cup was won by John Quinn, Ballylennon, at Dunfanaghy’s Singles event held in the Ozanam Centre, Dunfanaghy. The big winners were the Bumbleance Children’s National Ambulance Service who help critically and seriously ill children in Ireland to travel to appointments in a comfortable environment and who received €1300.00.
